I absolutely ADORE the style of this game! The designs are beautiful, the animation is amazing, and I can't wait to see more of this game! I would absolutely throw money at this, given the chance owo
Saw this on a let's play channel and had to come check it out. This game has such a fun premise and I love how expressive your character models are. All of the girls have really clear personalities and it makes it all the more harrowing worrying about what will happen to them. I'll definitely be back to buy the full version when it's done!
It seems interesting but it has some major bugs that REALLY need to be fixed mainly skipping during any section where it's only hana will softlock the game and after choosing to turn back when it switches to hana again it will constantly freeze once the first text box appears making it impossible to progress
I had so much fun with this game. It's awesome to see a dev make a game in the FMV style. At first I wasn't sure about the text progression, but when I learned about the fast forward and rewind mechanic it made perfect sense and worked very well when it was implemented. These characters have a lot of personality and the storyline had me pretty hooked! I hope very much that development of this game continues, I'd love to see where this goes!
I tried to play it but after the loading screen the game doesn't show, the screen stays completely black. Sounds can be heard but nothing else happens.
I've heard this problem once before, but my only guess with them was their laptop was old. I'll try and troubleshoot it best I can, but I really don't know why that happens.
So far what I've deduced is that the bug occurs with AMD GPUs, but not ALL of them. Thank you for trying another computer. I'm sorry all of them are AMD.
I'll continue to try and figure out the issue. My current theory is that AMD isn't playing nice with the Render Texture perhaps. Since to my knowledge, everyone can see up to the title screen fine, which isn't being sent to a render texture.
The only thing that makes me uncertain that's the case is that I never got any complaints about "Become Prey 2" only showing a black screen even though it's using a similar method.
The only difference is that I added a second RenderTexture so the text also looked crunchy.
I need to find someone with this issue that I can send some builds to and try and hone in on the bug.
The first time I run the game I get some unity error, the second time it will load to the menu screen, I choose to start the game, then goes black. I can hear stepping sounds but nothing else.
I wonder what that error was. It may have been a clue.
Unfortunately, I don't think its an issue with the game build. It may be a driver issue or something. If you have other hardware, give it a try on that. Else it's a guessing game to what isn't playing nice.
I found the game interesting and had fun just paying attention to the story. Though, I wish the text progression was a bit more like a Visual Novel, where it moves when the player wants it to move. Otherwise, not bad.
I have been following the development on twitter and I'm so happy I can finally play this! It's a bit rough around the edges, but very good nonetheless. I love love love the characters.
Awesome demo, can not wait for the full game. I did complete all the endings which was not too hard, however this is just a demo of course, so I assume more will come in the future. Looking forward to the full release and your future projects.
ooo omg, one of my favourite genres of games, the aesthetic is so nostalgic and I absolutely adore it! Thanks for your hard work, I enjoyed watching the demo ManlyBadassHero played on his youtube channel, (laptop can't really run games, sadly) so far it looks amazing.
Alrighty, I've been playing this since about 2 hours after it was put up, and I love the heck out of it. I just got done exploring every possible route, which was a ton of fun to do, even if a bunch of the later stuff was in a rough state, i.e. unfinished animations and spelling/grammar errors. That's all to be expected though with a game still in development, so it's not too bad.
I did run into some issues with softlocks, namely in the scenes involving rain. Using the fast-forward feature would occasionally freeze the scene in place. I also think a scene selection would be a great quality of life feature, to make exploring every route less of a hassle.
I really like the dynamic all of the characters have (Jun is a sweetie) and understanding them and being able to relate to them helped make the dreadful section(s?) even more dreadful (in a good horror-y way). It definitely got my heart pounding! This was a ton of fun to go through, and I'd play the heck out of a more realized version.
Edit: Forgot to mention the visuals! Love em love em love em :)
Thank you for playing through, and leaving your thoughts! I'm glad you like it, and I'm happy to hear you were able to connect with the characters. I had alot of anxiety over the writing.
Hm... a scene select... I could give it a shot with a final build.
^///^ Yeah, it's pretty obvious I started running out of time for the jam. The 1st scene is the only one I polished at all, and that's how I want the rest of it to look when it's done.
Just curious, do you have an estimate on when it would possibly be finished? I already adore the visual style and am quite interested, but I'd prefer to play it when it's out in full.
I totally understand. ^^ Unfortunately, I don't currently have a good timeline for when this will be completed. All I know is that I don't want to work on it for too long, so I'm aiming to finish by the end of the year, and I'll reassess from there.

Great music. good luck with whatever you're making instead of this game, I've enjoyed all your low-poly works of the last few years.
My video on Paranormal Investigation Club.

Though your kind words alone are appreciated greatly.
This is so good! I love the characters and the overall style of the game. I played it with headphones and was legitamitely creeped out

Thank you for letting me know. Fast forwarding in the rain has already been fixed for the complete product.

Intel 3-3770k and gpu is Rx 570 amd. Maybe that helps, this computer can run anything practically without problems.
I tried it in another computer, with an Rx 590 gpu, didn't work either, same bug.

Same thing happening for me.
They said the loading screen, do you mean... is it happening after the Unity Splash, or the proper loading screen where it says "Ready"
Cause I read online there can be issues with unity's video player not showing video but playing audio.
The first time I run the game I get some unity error, the second time it will load to the menu screen, I choose to start the game, then goes black. I can hear stepping sounds but nothing else.

Thanks for the response! I imagine it's due to older hardware. Putting it on my list and will try on another system when I get the chance.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. http://www.youtube.com/c/Levont
AH! Spit! I should post the controls. There was a fast forward the whole time. There's even a rewind.
hi, big thx for this very great demo. greetings from rosti 😁
I have been following the development on twitter and I'm so happy I can finally play this! It's a bit rough around the edges, but very good nonetheless. I love love love the characters.
I'm very happy to hear people are connecting with the characters! I had such anxiety over it, cause they're really the crux of the whole game.
I definitely started sprinting to make the Jam's deadline. But now I can work on it at my own pace. ^^
I'll try not to keep everyone waiting too long though.
I just watched someone play the demo for this game. I would like to see and play a full version of the game soon!

Will be waiting for a full version, it was really interesting.
Fantastic work! I would buy this game in a heart beat when it came out; take all my money!

Thank you for pointing out the video! I really enjoyed watching and seeing all those comments. ^//^
Can't wait to see the finished version of this (that also has a happy ending.....right!? ;p )
